Our Mari Lwyd Alice joined the children at Ysgol Gynradd Tonyrefail Primary School to Celebrate Hen Galan, the tradition Welsh New Year.

To celebrate Hen Galan, Mari was taken around some of her local watering holes. starting at the Griffin Inn (The Bog) and moving around.
A bit rowdy in one pub but generally enjoyed by all, particularly in the Bog where she cant wait to return next year.

The Mari Lwyd Comes to Tonyrefail
23rd December 2025
Thakfully the rain held off for Mari to go around some of the Business around the Waunrhyyd Road, High Street and Mill Street Spreading her Christmas cheer.
lovely reception in the shops and in the community, special thanks to Martyn in Ar Ben Y Byd for keeping Mari’s helpers fed and watered… No hay for Mari though.

Mari attended the party hosted by Families supporting Families along with a visit from Santa!

Our Mari Lwyds first event since her return
Mari ‘Alice’ spent her first night out causing mischief around the event in the Workmens Club and the event in Gelli Gron.
An amazing event that was thankfully not spoiled by the rain!
